Over the past decade, robotic procedures have advanced many precision surgeries to help surgeons in difficult and repetitive surgical movements, reducing manual variability.

With the arrival of Artas Robotic, there is a significant advance of the previous techniques of hair transplantation, regarding the harvest of the grafts. In the FUT (Follicular Unit Transplant) technique, grafts are achieved after removal of a scalp segment that leaves a linear scar from ear to ear in place. In the FUE technique (Follicular Unit Extraction), the grafts are harvested directly from the donor area through a manual microapparatus without leaving visible scars. Now this procedure is performed by Artas Robot.

The differences are in the precision, control, reproducibility and speed in the extraction of the follicular grafts, minimizing damages to the follicles and time of the surgery.

Precision

Robotics guided by computer image, keeps constant and precise movements and also identifies and signals the direction and angle of hair to be removed.

 

Reproducibility

It keeps the removal parameters constant, eliminating errors caused by fatigue and manual variability.

Control

The computerized mapping of the density and type of follicular unit allows a selective and controlled removal of the follicle distance from each other, avoiding density faults in localized areas. The drilling depth is also controlled by the Artas system, avoiding damage to the grafts.
