Hair Transplant

Natural hair for a lifetime

The Hair Transplant is the transfer of the roots harvested in the regions of the head that were not affected by baldness, to the bald areas. This hair is born, grows normally and lasts a lifetime. Only a limited amount of yarn can be donated. This does not generate aesthetic changes in the donor area. Only the person’s own hair can be used in this surgery.

See the evolution of hair transplantation

In early 1959, large circular scalp blocks were removed from the donor area through manual punch scalpels and then “planted” in the bald area more than one centimeter apart.

Later in 1975, the patchwork era consisted of moving a strip two to four centimeters wide from the side of the head to the entire front region, with one end in place to irrigate the flap. A high density of hair was achieved, but with a visible linear scar crossing the frontal region. The “death” of the flap end was common. In this case the patient was only half repaired.

From the 1980s, the first mini-grafts collected with motorized circular scalpels began to appear to facilitate and expedite the procedure. At that time the implantation of a larger number of grafts began. Also in the 1980s, the donor area was removed in the form of strips that were later separated into micrografts.

Although follicular units had already been identified in the early 1980s, it was only in the early 1990s that the follicular technique began. From there the transplant began to gain a natural appearance. Details of refinement have been evolving to this day, with imperceptible results.

Nowadays the hair transplant has presented technical and aesthetic advances that allow surprising results.

High density and natural aesthetics of the frontal line are advanced technical aspects that promote a true revolution in this procedure. Currently, the FUE technique with the ARTAS Robot (click and learn more here), is satisfactory, with no scars on the hair and no postoperative pain.

I’m a good candidate

Would the hair transplant work for me?

Dr. João Carlos Pereira, who is aware of the difficulties that the bald man faces, understands his anxieties and aspirations perfectly, leaving him at ease to discuss clearly his possibilities in a hair transplant surgery. Next to you we have a FAQ to answer all your questions regarding Hair Transplant.

Theoretically yes, but in practice this does not work because to keep this hair alive is necessary the constant use of medicines with numerous side effects. When it comes to a kidney, a vital organ is worth the risk, but if it comes to aesthetic character like hair, it is inadvisable.

Most men are good candidates to perform the transplant. However, there are cases that have technical or aesthetic limitations for various reasons. Dr. João Carlos Pereira, frankly puts the facilities, difficulties and even the impossibility of performing the hair transplant, because the biggest interested in good results is himself. A consultation is important to evaluate your case and to discuss the proposal of the work to be performed.

From the moment there is a degree of rarefaction that it is possible to transplant hair without damaging the existing ones it is possible to perform the transplant. As for age, it is possible to perform hair transplantation in people many young people with 18 years and in many masters over 70 years, provided that the individual has the health conditions necessary for the procedure. Younger patients have the advantage of putting on hair before losing them altogether. The physician should be alert and warn the patient about an additional drop in the future and the need for other transplants and the risk of not having enough donor area for more surgeries.

Yes, but this early is from the moment the fall begins. Can be with 20.30.40 years. When the person has hair, although thinning, hardly anyone will identify that a hair transplant has been done. Later, if these hairs also fall, there will be transplants and this person will never have a bald period. When this occurs, this bald area is always recorded in people’s memories and any change is perceived.

Technically this is possible but the hair would not have the same density, length, thickness and texture of the hair that grows on your scalp.

Since the surgeon has removed hair from the donor area in the dominant range the transplanted hair remains a lifetime. The average fall of 80 threads on average remains the same, due to the hair cycle of falling and being born again. Although not always an easy task in some cases, an experienced surgeon does not make this kind of mistake.
